WHAT IS A BETTER KIND OF PURE ?

It's the kind of pure that doesn't produce chlorination by-products such as Trihalomethanes (THM's). It's the kind of pure that provides instant disinfection as opposed to lengthy chlorine contact time. Best of all, it's the kind of pure disinfectant that you generate at your own facilities without depending upon costly and logistically complex chemical suppliers.

HYPOCHLOROUS ACID. WHAT IS IT ?

Hypochlorous Acid is the active ingredient of any chlorination disinfection process be it Chlorine Gas, Sodium Hypochlorite or other chlorine sources. The difference is that generating Hypochlorous Acid directly, rather than indirectly through other forms of chlorine, makes the disinfection process faster, more reliable and safer. If your facility uses other forms of chlorine, Hypochlorous Acid should already be approved for use.

WHY ARE THERE TWO STREAMS OF CHEMICALS FROM ONE SALT BRINE

Ceram Hyd generates a stream of Hypochlorous Acid (HClO) and another of Caustic Soda (NaOH) from a brine solution consisting of ordinary table salt and water. An electrochemical cell containing Ceram Hyd's CERAPEM membrane is energised and the salt molecule is split as shown below. The chlorine is produced when hydroxide ions combine with chlorine ions and give off two electrons to form chlorine in the form of HClO. The Caustic Soda is formed when sodium ions combine with hydroxide ions on the cathode side. This process is consistent, stable and reliable. Two useful chemicals from one simple and abundant source.

The CERAPEMTM is a disruptive membrane made of ceramic particles with outstanding features: it is flat, flexible, it looks and feels like polymeric (plastic) membranes. It is resistant to hard water, compatible with any kind of pH, highly conductive and is exceptionally durable.

The MiniCell is a pocket-sized disinfection generation device that can be easily integrated into any equipment requiring in-situ disinfection, as well as cleaning when required. The MaxiCell is an industrial sized disinfection generation device for use on industrial sites that need powerful disinfection capabilities.

The MiniCell and the MaxiCell enable efficient on demand production of one or two valuable products by electrolysing ordinary salt brine: a strong oxidant and disinfectant and a pH adjusting or cleaning agent.

Our solution suits all size of in-situ cleaning and disinfection equipment, and satisfies all needs: from very small to larger sizes.

DISINFECTION SYSTEMS

The machine shown above is a turnkey system which includes the Cerapem™ membrane installed in a PowerStack™. The stacks are available in five convenient sizes ranging from an individual site to the disinfection equivalent of water disinfection for 150,000 homes. The system also includes a power supply, a NEMA4 cabinet, all controls, a touch screen HMI and internet remote monitoring.

Hypochlorous Acid: HClO is the definition of chlorine residual and it is what is eventually generated by all other forms of chlorine disinfection. Up until now, HClO was always difficult and expensive to generate so it is typically generated from chlorine gas, sodium hypochlorite and other chlorine derivatives.
